Petfinder.com has announced it will no longer accept pre-registered dogs, cats and kittens for pet adoption.
It has also announced that the site will be closed for maintenance in 2018.
The site is owned by four major players: Petfinder, Zappos, Amazon, and Petsmart.
It was launched in 2016 and has been described by many as the best place to find and purchase pets online.
It launched the Petsmart section of the site in March, which allowed users to compare pets in their area.
Users could compare pet prices in different areas, as well as view the pets themselves.
The company has also been accused of not offering good service to its users.
It had a pet buyer-review average of only 4.4 out of 5, with one reviewer stating “I’ve purchased and sold over 300 pets since starting this site, and none of them have ever returned.”
In response to the complaints, Petfinder announced it would be removing pet listings from its site and will no long be accepting pre-registration for pet purchases.
The site will continue to offer online adoption services, and will be “fully committed to working with the communities that use our platform,” the company said in a statement.
